Project Description
The backyard becomes a primary living space in this lushly landscaped pool pavilion designed for a young couple with a love of the outdoors and a commitment to health. The dynamic pavilion structure evokes a modern twist on an old-world sense of grandeur. Created from Hawaiian koa wood, cedar, copper and rock, the pavilion is completely open to the outdoors but can be shut down by industrial overhead garage doors. You entertain here, escape here, and revive yourself here. With a strong connection to the surrounding cabernet vineyard and the natural landscape of an adjacent State Park, this oasis offers many amenities: a professional chef's kitchen, state of the art entertainment system, covered shuffle board and bocce court, and then, a luxurious spa, with a steam/sauna/shower/tub glass enclosure. The outdoor space remains comfortable in the hot summers with a misting system concealed in the ceiling. The building is virtually self-powered, with a large array of solar panels hidden atop the roof.
